Truck Driver AZ/DZ (Night Shift)

Ethier Sand & Gravel is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Night Shift Truck Driver In the Garson, Ontario Area. This Full-time position comes with competitive wages, a pension, and a benefits package.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete vehicle inspection reports, and report unsafe conditions and accidents
  • Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including the amount of material, the time of delivery and any other pertinent information.
  • Constantly monitor vehicle fitness and ever-changing conditions.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and clients to ensure delivery of materials.
  • Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures, and/or regulations, including both wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work schedule of 5pm – 5am Monday night to Friday morning, including weekends when required.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
  • Travel to work sites with overnight stays when required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Valid AZ or DZ class driver’s license with a clean drivers’ abstract is required.
  • Prior experience operating a triaxle or other DZ driving roles is considered an asset.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.

  • Knowledgeable and respectful of the Highway Traffic Act and municipality by laws.
  • Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.
  • Ability to manage risks and adapt to unexpected changes.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • An ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and deal effectively with people using a facilitative approach.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
